US surgeons implant genetically modified pig heart into human

US surgeons have successfully transplanted a genetically modified pig heart into a human. It was a last-ditch effort to save the life of the 57-year-old patient, who had been too sick to receive a human heart. Doctors said the patient is doing well three days post-surgery, but it’s still too early to determine whether the operation has been a success.
