The European Union has pledged an extra $500 million worth of military aid for Ukraine, as G7 leaders gathered for talks in Germany. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the funds will be used to buy heavy weapons. He also expressed hopes there would be an agreement on an embargo on Russian oil soon. Meanwhile, Ukraine has begun its first war crime trial against a Russian soldier who is accused of killing a 62-year-old unarmed civilian.
