Taxi lines return to Changi Airport as additional fare surcharge kicks in

Taxi lines have returned to Changi Airport as increased surcharges kick in. It now costs $3 more to hail a cab there. Higher peak-hour charges, now at $8, will apply daily. The new surcharges will continue until end-June. The airport said this will ensure a better supply of taxis. Passenger volumes are bouncing back at Changi Airport, with traffic now above 40% of pre-pandemic levels. In recent months, cab drivers have been reluctant to go to the airport to pick up passengers due to its location and higher fuel costs.
