Singapore’s Smart Port Challenge empowers start-ups with innovative solutions to maritime problems

Singapore’s Smart Port Challenge is championing start-ups with solutions to address critical challenges — such as crew safety risks, supply chain disruptions and productivity — in the maritime industry. The initiative empowers start-ups with cash prizes, mentorship and technical support for coming up with real-world solutions for real-world problems, supplied by real-world companies. Since 2017, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has disbursed nearly S$2.5 million to such start-ups. To date, nearly 80 start-ups have gained market access through this initiative.
