Singapore’s manufacturing output grew at a slower pace in March 2022, as pharmaceutical production dwindled. March manufacturing output rose 3.4%, about a fifth of the growth in February. Production of aircraft parts, and maintenance and repair of commercial airlines boosted the transport engineering sector. The semiconductors segment also grew, led by demand from 5G markets and data centres amid the global chip shortage.
