Singapore will study how New Zealand implements its lifetime ban on smoking for those below the age of 14. Senior Minister of State for Health Koh Poh Koon said the Health Ministry is open to such a policy and will see if it can be applied here. However, he said certain factors must be considered before making such a move. For instance, youths in Singapore are aware of the harms of smoking and generally do not take it up, but Dr Koh pointed out that e-cigarettes pose a bigger issue.
