Singaporeans could soon be asked to commit to one family doctor, and to consult them regularly even when they are well. It comes as part of a major revamp of the healthcare sector, from treatment-based care to one focused on preventive care. Called Healthier SG, a white paper on it is set to be tabled in Parliament later this year. The Health Ministry said the plans are meant to address rising healthcare costs, which are set to triple in the next decade amid an ageing population.
