Singapore is considering detaining dangerous sex offenders for at least five to 20 years. Instead of an automatic release after incarceration, they will be jailed until they are assessed not to be a public threat. Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam was responding to a question in Parliament on safeguards to protect the public from recalcitrant sex offenders.
