At the 31st SEA Games, Singapore’s swimmers dominated the final day at the pool. Teong Tzen Wei won the 50m freestyle in 21.93secs, making him the only Southeast Asian ever to dip below 22 seconds. Singapore took home 21 swimming gold medals at this Game, just 2 shy of their best in 2015 and in 2019. Head coach Gary Tan shared more about the team’s next targets for the World Championships in Budapest next month and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July.
