Review panel proposes more flexible curriculum and industry exposure for poly, ITE students

Polytechnic students will soon be able to spread out their learning to more than three years. Under changes announced on Jan 7, they will have greater flexibility to customise curriculum time to pursue other interests like sports. Students are also set to get deeper industry exposure. The announcement follows a review of the ITE and polytechnic system led by Second Minister for Education Maliki Osman. Currently, about 7% of polytechnic students opt to extend their candidature.
