During the Budget debate on March 1, Labour MP Patrick Tay said raising the minimum qualifying salaries of Employment Pass and S Pass holders is not enough to level the playing field for local Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs). He added that there is a need to enhance the EP framework to ensure the foreign workforce complements local employees. Mr Tay is hoping the government will take the recommendations from the PME Taskforce to tighten the EP application review process.
