During their leaders’ retreat, Singapore and Indonesian leaders also discussed regional developments — in particular, Myanmar. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the situation there “remains serious.” He and Mr Joko Widodo noted there has been no significant progress on implementing ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus since it was adopted last April. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has invited Myanmar’s army chief to an ASEAN summit, but his attendance is conditional on progress being made on the consensus struck with the bloc in 2020.
