New Zealand will ease more COVID-19 curbs from April 14. Limits on indoor gatherings will be removed, and mask-wearing will no longer be mandatory in some places. The country reopened its borders to Australians on April 13 — more than two months ahead of schedule. New Zealand is also getting ready to welcome more vaccinated tourists from visa-waiver countries from May. The country had mostly closed its borders throughout the pandemic, but that has taken a significant toll on the economy and tourism sector.
