Cases of fallen trees in Singapore have plummeted by around 85 per cent over the last 20 years. Data from NParks puts the tally at around 470 last year. That is with better and more frequent surveillance of trees under its charge. But some private landscape contractors say they will need more skilled manpower to keep pace with more frequent checks, amid bad weather and more ageing trees.
