The Intellectual Property (Amendment) Bill was passed in Parliament on Jan 12 to make IP processes clearer and more efficient, and more importantly, business-friendly. The deadline for requests to continue processing lapsed trademark applications will also be shortened to two months from the current six months. The majority of the amendments are expected to be implemented by May 2022.
