Hong Kong is facing a worsening COVID-19 outbreak. On March 4, daily infections exceeded 50,000 for a third straight day. Supermarkets have begun rationing items, as people panic buy. Hospitals are buckling under pressure, with occupancy reaching limits, and morgues running out of space. Hong Kong’s hospitals are running low on oxygen. Mainland authorities are helping to build around four isolation facilities with up to 17,000 beds, with the first at Tsing Yi already up and running.
