Hong Kong govt officials quarantined after attending large party with confirmed COVID-19 case

Some Hong Kong officials have been forced into quarantine amid growing fears over the spread of the Omicron variant. They were among the 100-over guests who attended a party on Jan 3 with a now-confirmed COVID-19 case. Chief Executive Carrie Lam has expressed disappointment in members of her government. She pointed out that her administration had advised the public to avoid large gatherings last week. Tougher restrictions have already been announced. Eateries will have to stop dine-in services at 6pm from Jan 7, and venues such as swimming pools, clubs and museums will have to close for at least two weeks.
