Govt will permanently enhance GST Voucher scheme to help lower-income families: Lawrence Wong

The government is permanently enhancing its GST Voucher scheme to help lower-income Singaporeans. In a Facebook post, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong also explained how the $6-billion Assurance Package will help offset the impending GST hike. He added that the planned GST increase — from 7% to 9% — will help Singapore generate the revenue needed to invest more in its people and social infrastructure. Mr Wong will be sharing more details in his upcoming Budget Statement on Feb 18.
