Former transport minister Khaw Boon Wan has been awarded Poland’s Commander’s Cross with Star for his contribution to bilateral ties. It’s given to distinguished foreigners and Polish nationals living abroad for their efforts to build cooperation. Mr Khaw received the second highest class of the Order of Merit from Polish ambassador Magdalena Bogdziewicz. He was recognised for his leadership and dedication nurturing maritime and aviation links between the two countries. This included a direct flight connection and investments in Poland’s largest deepwater container terminal.
