China has slammed a visit by a US senator to Taiwan, and once again demanded that Washington stop all forms of official exchanges with the island. US democrat Tammy Duckworth met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei. Meanwhile, China has upped its military threat amid the US visit. Beijing made its second-largest incursion into Taiwan’s air defence zone this year, with Taipei sighting more than 30 Chinese jets. The island said it scrambled its aircraft and deployed air defence missile systems to monitor the latest Chinese activity.
