Australian Open controversy: Immigration minister cancels Djokovic’s visa, cites “public interest”

Novak Djokovic’s deportation from Australia has been delayed after an emergency court hearing in Melbourne. The move comes just hours after the immigration minister revoked the tennis star’s visa for a second time. His lawyers have asked the court for a decision before Jan 17, allowing Djokovic to defend his crown at the Australian Open. He is also scheduled to meet immigration officials on Jan 15.
