900 companies pledge commitment to safe, injury-free work environment

More than 900 companies have pledged to minimise machine hazards and provide safety training at this year’s Safe Hands Campaign. This is three times the number of pledges made for injury-free workplaces when it was first launched four years ago. Aimed at preventing hand and finger injuries at work, this year’s campaign turns its focus from the metalworking sub-sector to food manufacturing, a sub-sector that saw the second-highest number of amputation injuries, with nine in 2021.
