Bangkok (Thailand), July 6 (CityNewsR): Democrat MP for Bangkok Attawich Suwanpakdee has urged the Government to take a clear stance on its alternative fuel policies for both petroleum and gas. He emphasized that for LPG, the government should help to support it for domestic uses as well as for transport to insure that its price stays below that of NGV. He also said that the state must regulate LPG so that it has a standard distribution system and also has sufficient retail outlets.

The MP also voiced his opposition to allowing LPG prices to follow world trends as he believes it is pushing the fuels burden onto citizens and indirectly stirring the use of illegal installation facilities which may pose a danger of explosion. He stated that if the government would like the transport sector to switch from LPG to NGV, it must be ready to shoulder the cost of assisting the public in switching systems.

Mr. Attawich capped off by saying that the government should clearly declare if it wishes to support E85 fuel compatible vehicles so that car manufacturers and retailers may appropriately adapt.
